So here's how this project came about
Janita Rucker reaches out to me. She's a real estate broker, she's opened a new location right here in Hampton Virginia, and she needed a video. Something that not only looked good, but something that actually told her story. What she does. Who she is.
Fifteen years in banking. Now running her own brokerage. On a mission to help first-time homebuyers and underserved communities get into homes. That's the kind of thing people connect with.
Challenge
She was stepping into a new location and needed the Hampton Roads community to know she existed and more importantly, to understand why they should work with her.
A lot of business owners want something that just looks good. Janita needed something that communicated clearly: who she is, what she does, who she serves, and why she does it.
Strategy
Before we even touched a camera
We hopped on a call and mapped the whole thing out. I got a clear understanding of her story, her goals, and what the video actually needed to do.
We zeroed in on the stuff that mattered, her banking background, the transition into real estate, launching her brokerage, who she's really trying to serve. Once I understood all of that, the video had direction. It wasn't just promotional. It had purpose.
Process
How the shoot went..
On-camera interview. Location shots. Some creative stuff based on what the environment gave us. Drone footage of the building in downtown Hampton. Some of it was planned ahead of time, some of it just happened on the day.
That mix, planned and in-the-moment is what makes a video feel both strategic and real at the same time.
Insight
People aren't choosing a real estate agent because of the house. They're choosing somebody they feel like they can trust. Does this person vibe with me? Do they understand where I'm at in life? Do they get what I actually need?
With Janita's background in banking, she already knows how to navigate the financial side of getting into your first home. That's not something every agent can say. But if nobody knows that story, it doesn't matter.
That's literally what this video does for her. It turns her background into her brand.
